Some information related with PC (multimedia center) setup for cars

My old car Renault Megane modified for wardriving.

Sepcifications:

• Onboard computer: Compaq Armada M700, CDROM boot + USB memory, no HDD
• Software: Kismet, gpsd
• GPS: handheld Magellan GPS-150
• Antenna: 2.4GHz omni

Builtin TV tuner that needs some hacking. In Estonia we use PAL tv standard but eastern European frequency table. Unfortunately it is not possible to use PAL with these frequencies but only SECAM. Using SECAM with PAL channels makes them black and white without an audio. It should be possible to change tv standard from SECAM to PAL for eastern European frequencies. Just have to find out where is this bit of information or override tuner driving functions between controller and tuner chip.

Bose amplifier GMX320 is controlled with car DATA bus and everything controlled via this (volume, audio settings, chime). Some pictures of amplifier internals can be seen here:
